Hello, I graduated from Brown in 2000 and was a member of Brown Student
Labor Alliance. I am now
working for the state Public Interest Research Groups. We are a nationwide
network of non-profit organizations that have been working on environmental,
consumer and democracy issues for over 25 years. Originally started by
students
in surge of activism from the 60's, we have grown into a network of campus
groups,
full time organizers and advocates across the country that are able to work
through a
combination of grassroots organizing, lobbying and research to create social
change.
I'm writing because we are looking for seniors who are interested in going
into a career in social change and are looking for jobs as organizer and
advocates. Having recently been a senior, I realize that career services
doesn't
do a great job of offering jobs in this field or of presenting social
change as a viable career option at all.
If anybody is considering continuing their college activism after
college, please feel to call
or email to talk more about what we do and the jobs we are hiring for.
Thanks.
