Juicio y castigo a los asesinos de Pananti y a los mercenarios del Chapare

Los asesinatos siguen y suman en nuestro país. El 9 de noviembre, en Pananti, fueron victimados por sicarios a sueldo 7 dirigentes campesinos del Movimiento Sin Tierra y 20 quedaron gravemente heridos. El 15 de noviembre, en el Chapare, 3 campesinos productores de hoja de coca murieron en enfrentamientos con el Ejército y se han denunciado mas de 80 casos de campesinos apaleados por miembros de las Fuerzas de Tareas Expedicionarias conformadas por uniformados a sueldo. En el caso de Pananti-Yacuiba a pesar de haber sido advertidos de la presencia de sicarios, los ministros y autoridades no hicieron nada para prevenir la masacre. No se puede perpetuar la injusta distribución de la tierra en Bolivia permitiendo el libre accionar de mercenarios al servicio de terratenientes.
La matanza de Pananti y el drama del Chapare colocan a Bolivia al borde de una situación similar a la de Colombia. Cada vez son mas las situaciones en las que los sectores de poder recurren a grupos irregulares y a acciones de violencia para amedrentar a sectores campesinos e indígenas. Así ocurre en Monteverde, el Chóre, Yapacani, Pananti y el Chapare. Si no se detiene, enjuicia y castiga a los autores materiales e intelectuales de estos crímenes y masacres la impunidad dará luz verde a que este tipo de acciones se generalicen en Bolivia. Hasta ahora ninguna de las muertes, asesinatos y masacres en estos últimos 15 años de democracia ha sido esclarecida y menos hay culpables enjuiciados tras las rejas.
No aceptamos acostumbrarnos a que las muertes sean simples estadísticas y a ver cómo en el mejor de los casos se indemniza a los familiares de las víctimas con 4.000 $US.
¡Basta de impunidad en Bolivia! Aun podemos evitar que la muerte se transforme en ley y que la libertad sea el premio de los asesinos. Desde todas partes del país y del mundo le pedimos que envíe un fax o un email al Presidente de la República de Bolivia expresando su preocupación y pedido de que se realice una investigación imparcial, detención, juicio y sanción a todos los autores de tan lamentables hechos.

Estamos profundamente preocupados por la masacre de 7 dirigentes campesinos sin tierra en Pananti-Yacuiba ocurrida el 8 de noviembre y ahora por la muerte de 3 campesinos productores de hoja de coca en el Chapare. Esperamos que estos lamentables hechos no queden en la impunidad como sucedió con las otras 84 muertes ocurridas durante los últimos 15 años de régimen democrático en Bolivia. Estamos convencidos que no hay democracia sin justicia y que el peor atentado al sistema democrático es dejar en la impunidad a los autores intelectuales y materiales de tantas muertes y asesinatos. Consideramos que no se puede perpetuar la injusta distribución de la tierra en Bolivia permitiendo el libre accionar de mercenarios al servicio de terratenientes. Esperamos que su alta investidura proceda a hacer una investigación a fondo e imparcial en los casos de Pananti y el Chapare, que directamente le atañen a su gobierno, sin detenerse ante intereses de grupos de poder político, económico o militar. Sólo si se sienta un precedente que ponga fin a esta escalda de violencia en Bolivia se sentarán las bases para una verdadera democracia.
A la espera de una justa y efectiva aplicación de la ley, nos despedimos muy atentamente.

Judging and punishment for killers in Pananti and Mercenaries in El Chapare
The murders carried forward in our country, last November 9th, in Pananti - Yacuiba 7 Peasant leaders from the movement without earth "MOVIMIENTO SIN TIERRA" were killed by hired gunmen and 20 Peasant were seriously injured. On November 15th in El Chapare, 3 Peasant coca producers passed away during the confrontation with the army. 80 affaires about punishments against Peasant coca producers by members of the Expedition Force, were denounced. In the case of Pananti-Yacuiba, even the prevention of the hired gunmen alert, the authorities did not do anything about it to avoid the massacre.
It must not be perpetuated the unfair distribution of the earth in Bolivia allowing the free activity of the assassins at the service of the Terratenientes.
The Slaughter of Pananti and the dramatic situation in El Chapare, set Bolivia on the similar Colombian situation. Worse and worse are the circumstances that Sectors with power are resorting to violence for frightening Indigenous and Peasant Sectors. The same things are happening in Monte Verde, Chore, Yapacani and El Chapare.
If Perpetrators are not arrested, judged and punished for their crimes, the impunity will light green to those kind of actions in Bolivia.
Until now, any of the deaths, murders and massacres in the last 15 years of democracy were not cleared up. Far from it, there are not guilty trials behind the jail.
We do not accept that deaths will be just statistics, as a last resort families of the victims are paid with 4.000 dollars.
Stop the impunity in Bolivia, We could still avoid the Death becomes in Law and the freedom will become the prize for the killers. From all the country and the world we ask you to send an email or a fax to the President of Bolivia expressing your worry and suggesting the fair investigation, arresting and punishment for perpetrators for theses pitiful facts.
