    WASHINGTON, D.C. * Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and other Democratic
Senators will hold a press conference tomorrow, Friday, December 7, at 10:30
a.m. at the Senate Swamp to push for passage of an economic recovery package
that includes unemployment and health care benefits for laid-off workers. The
Senators will be joined by laid-off workers, families, and community leaders.

    It has been a full month since America's jobless rate hit its highest level
in more than a decade. More than 7.7 million Americans are out of work, yet
Congress still has not passed a plan to help them and jump-start the slowing
economy.
