USAS,

This was sent out over a week ago. No Sweat! IU has its plate full with
our victory with New Era, April 4 with UNITE and Brylane workers, and
Howard Zinn.

Hello all,

In a celebratory note, No Sweat! IU and the Worker Rights Committee voted
today to terminate New Era's contract with the university. The committee
was formed two years ago by No Sweat!, the administration, and other local
activists to evaluate and work with the Worker Rights Consortium (WRC)
which is a monitoring organization of global factories that produce
collegiate apparel. New Era is currently trying to bust an union in
Derby, NY, where workers have been on strike for better pay, better
benefits, and respect since July of 2001.

Though the committee can only recommend this plan of action to Pres.
Brand, we fully expect him to follow up on its suggestion to terminate.

This upcoming week we remind you that No Sweat! is traveling to Indy for
an action at the Brylane Distribution Center, where workers are trying to
organize an union. We wil leave the circle drive of the IMU at 2pm
Thursday April 4th. The action starts at 3:30pm at the gates of Brylane
on 2300 Southwestern Ave.

Friday April 5th, the author of People's History of the United States,
Howard Zinn is coming to the Buskirk-Chumley Theatre at 1pm, though all
are encouraged to come at noon to see folk singer David Rovicks.

For more info about how to get involved in any of the above actions,
