Hey USAS --
Just a quick update on the state of our growing movement. I have attached to this message a current list of all the affiliates (college, university, and high school) of United Students Against Sweatshops -- 110 in all! We met and exceeded our goal for this school year.
However, there are a lot of campus groups out there who are doing great worker soldarity and anti-sweatshop organizing and haven't yet affiliated. Why bother to affiliate? By building the national movement, you're building the power of all of us in our work for change. The more student activists our organization represents, the more seriously we threaten sweatshop employers like New Era boss Chris Koch. AND.....our national conference is coming up, and if your organization wants to VOTE and RUN FOR LEADERSHIP POSITIONS, you need to be affiliated. If your group is interested in affiliating, go to www.usasnet.org, click on "Affiliate to USAS", read and ratify our Principles of Unity, and send an email with the information requested to ambergallup@yahoo.com
