Unfortunately, it costs $5 to download the paper. It shows that unionizing
gives a 10-20% wage increase to university employees...
Note that comparisons that unions provide about how unionized workers do
better than non-unionized workers are often misleading as they do not
always compare people doing the same jobs, and thus show a larger "union
premium" than actually exists. Unionized workers tend to work in sectors
of the economy that pay more. However a 10-20% wage premium, plus being
empowered to make workplace decisions, is definitely worth fighting for.
