Kentucky Jobs with Justice, a progressive coalition of labor, community, and religious organizations, seeks an Organizer to assist with program, fundraising, and organizational development. Responsibilities
Applicant will organize actions in solidarity with labor and community campaigns; conduct outreach to organizations regarding specific action-steps but also building JwJ membership; coordinate events; assist with the Living Wage campaign; provide support for fundraising and administrative tasks; assist in developing publications; work closely with the Steering Committee and develop new leadership within the organization.
Qualifications
Commitment to the principles of social and economic justice.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in computer skills including database management, word processing and desktop publishing.
Experience developing strategy, building organizations, fundraising, and working with activists and leaders.
Union experience a plus.
Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends.
Own vehicle available for work (mileage is reimbursed).
