Announcing: USAS Delegation to the U.S./ Mexico Border- APPLY NOW!!!
BECOME PART OF A DYNAMIC GROUP TRAVELING TO THE US/ MEXICO BORDER IN AUGUST!!
The 2002 Border Delegation will be a tour of the US/Mexico Border Region that will seek to discuss to social, psychological and economic agendas and experiences of the border region. On this delegation, you will learn about the maquiladora industry, militarization, migration and how real people are affected by transnational policies. You will also have the opportunity to stay with and interview workers and migrants in the border area. The trip begins in El Paso, Texas/Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 02, 2002 (Friday). It will then continue through the border of New Mexico and into Arizona. The trip terminates in Ambos Nogales (Arizona/Sonora, Mexico). Participants on this delegation are expected to fly to Boston on August 8, 2002 to participate in the national conference. Transportation to Boston is included in the price of the trip.
Please fill out the enclosed application and return it to Lenore and Celeste by Monday, June 10th! We will be creating this experience together and so we need your application by this date.
