Administrative Director

The Worker Rights Consortium (WRC), a non-profit organization working to end sweatshop conditions in the global apparel industry, is seeking an Administrative Director

The Administrative Director will have a broad range of responsibilities involving the WRC's communications with its constituencies and the administration of the organization. The Administrative Director will work closely with the WRC's Executive Director.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include:

        * Coordination of communications with WRC affiliate universities, student activists, Governing Board members and advisors, and US-based NGOs

        * Coordination of the editing, production and dissemination of WRC factory reports, the WRC newsletter, WRC promotional materials and other organizational publications

        * Coordination of logistics, agenda planning and preparation for Governing Board meetings and other WRC meetings and conferences

        * Development and management of WRC intern programs and supervision of office-based interns

        * Assisting the WRC's media relations consultant with media communications

        * Assisting the Executive Director with fundraising and providing administrative support to the Executive Director on a day-to-day basis

Qualifications

In order to be qualified for this position, candidates must have:

        * A B.A. or equivalent degree

        * At least three years' relevant work experience

        * Significant experience in two or more of the following areas: writing and editing, event planning and coordination, fundraising, office management, electronic communications

        * Outstanding administrative and communications skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, often under pressure, while maintaining strong attention to detail

        * A demonstrated commitment to social justice

Fluency in Spanish and/or an Asian language is highly desirable but not required.

This position provides an extraordinary opportunity to work on all aspects of the management of a high-profile NGO that is doing cutting-edge work in the field of international labor rights. The right candidate must possess a broad range of skills and must be able to shoulder significant responsibility, while also being comfortable doing substantial administrative work in support of the WRC Executive Director.
