[usas] 99 DAYS CAMPED OUT AT FSU (NEED HELP FOR DAY 100)

From: a student (fsu_usas@yahoo.com)
Date: Mon Jul 01 2002 - 18:52:22 EDT

For 99 days now we, the Florida State University
Students Against Sweatshops, have been camped
out on Landis Green, an area situated in the middle of
our university. It is one of two designated free
speech areas that we were forced into after being
arrested for attempting to camp out in front of the
administration building. As of yet we've recieved
little to no response from our administration who has
a fairly easy time ignoring us since our forced
move. They feel that as long as no attention is paid
to
our cries that we will just go away. But they do not
know the strength that lies in each and every single
member of our group. We will not give up until our
school joins the WRC!!! We will be in their face every
single minute of evry single day working to bring our
plight into the spotlight and giving our university
the embarrasment it deserves for not supporting basic
worker rights, basic human rights. Each and every one
of us has sworn to fight our president till the very
end but we need your help as well. Tomorrow is day 100
and we need as many of you as possible to email or
call our president and remind him of the students
camped out in his university and tell him he must
listen to our demands. Soon a sample email will be
sent throughout the listserves and we hope that all of
you can email him when you have the opportunity. We
will also provide his phone number so if you have the
oppurtunity please call his office as well. We are
trying to coordinate this around day 100 so even
though this email will be sent out today please do not
email or call him until tomorrow, July 2. Thank you.

P.S. PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL APPLICABLE LISTSERVES
