Hello everybody out there in cyberspace...
I've been on this list for quite a while now, and I
know that it's mostly discussion, but I'm trolling for
a few special individuals who really want to get
active in changing the world.
I'm down in Ecuador now, working on sustainable
development and biodiversity conservation. It's
pretty radical stuff, really. I'm working with the
Planet Drum Foundation together with the Ecuadorian
government to develop and implement projects, and
there are some things I need that I'm hoping a few
people out there might be able to help me with.
First, I want volunteers. Come down to Ecuador for a
month or more and work directly on awesome projects in
a great environment. And enjoy yourself. Ecuador's a
great place, safe and friendly. College credit can be
arranged for the work you do here.
Second, I am looking for people to help with technical
advice on projects. Find resources like books,
studies, other organizations working on similar
projects, and send this information down to me by mail
or internet.
Third, I'm looking for fundraising help. There are
some logistical necessities that would help me to work
down here that are not typically covered in project
budgets, like transportation, telephone, office, etc.
Individual contributions or volunteered time in the
States to look for money to help with these things
would help me tremendously.
Well, I'm not going to ramble on, since I know
responses to email inquiries are infrequent anyway,
and I don't have time to waste. If you're interested
in visiting Ecuador or helping with technical advice
or fundraising, please let me know. I'll be down here
at least through 2004, so even if you can't help now,
keep this email and help when you can.
