First off I want people to know that we got a fax yesterday from the CWA international asking us to withdraw out complaints with the WRC. We all know its not that simple and the WRC is in fact going to re-interview workers in the coming months and hopefully will have the final report out by the end of September. I know this was in the contract agreement that the union had to ask the WRC and USAS to end their investigations but we also need to make sure that New Era is respecting workers once again.
But for the more important questions of reinstating contracts. As far as the last call people were thinking it was important to reinstate contracts to show that we want our schools to do business with companies who create a good working environment for its workers. On the other hand I think it is better for us to wait at least one month to make sure that all the workers do it fact return to work. If school admins are already down the throats of students asking when the contracts can be reinstated then I think its better to just reinstate. I kinda see that as a needless fight. But in my opinion I would encourage students to hold off and just watch the situation for a little while. For once I think we can say that quick action isn't needed.
We can have a conference call about this if people thinks its needed or we can just try to have a quick meeting about this at the conference. We have strategy sessions planned and this might fit it well.
