Last night I was at a party talking to an elder, a wise Mexican woman from
Oaxaca. In the course of our conversation I told her about STARC and how it
was created, how proud I was at how the organization's analysis had developed
from a room of almost all white college "elite" corporate reformers into a
truly developing radical, multi-racial and anti-racist group. I started
talking about what STARC was doing today, including the Peaceful Justice
Cluster and then I stopped, I had to tell her that STARC had not taken a stance
to support Palestine, my claims of STARC as anti-racist seemed less firm to me
and I'm sure to her.
I believe that it is the responsibility of STARC as leaders and visionaries to
understand Palestine, to support these prosecuted people. I believe that it is
the responsibility of STARC as anti-racists to support the people of Palestine
as the United States gives $4 billion/year to their oppressors, just as STARC
supports the people of Columbia against the US government's $1.2 billion/year
or Afghanistan or Iraq for the persecution of the people there. Please
understand that there is no difference, only that it in the hearts and minds of
Jewish people that we must challenge our zionist training and learn the truth.
As anti-racists I ask you please support the Palestinean people in their
struggle for freedom and dignity.
