Each year United Student Against Sweatshops affiliates from around the country come together at our National Gathering. (5th USAS NATIONAL GATHERING - BOSTON, MA - AUG. 8th-11th for more info www.inittogether.org.)
One of the most important sessions we all take part in is our plenaries. In these sessions our affiliates propose, discuss and vote on proposals that shape USAS's programs and internal communication for the coming year.
All proposals for these sessions must be submitted one week before the conference begins so that they can be printed and copied for all participants. We are starting to collect proposals and we want YOUR ideas!!
Some past proposals have included: The Role of Regional Organizers, Creating a USAS Alumni Network, How We Define the Word Sweatshop, what campaigns USAS resources should go to in the coming year etc?
To submit a proposal you must be a member of a USAS affiliated group at your campus. To find out if your group is affiliated call our office at 202-NO-SWEAT! If you are an affiliate fill out the form below and send it to mmedow@umich.edu or to the usas office (address below) on or before Friday August 2nd.

Your proposal must contain at least two parts. The first must be an explanation of the problem you seek to fix or address. The second part must be your solution or the ways in which you address the problem you define. Within the second part of your proposal you must include a plan of
action with specific steps that the USAS coordinating committee, regional organizers, staff or affiliates should take or must include a time-line that lays out some idea of how your proposal would be implemented. If you have questions about whether your proposal meets these criteria we will be happy to go over it with you before you submit it.
