SWEATSHOPS, Milwaukee Proceedings Today – PNC Park Friday – New York Yankees

Fellow Worker Travis is going to court at 1:30 today. We will all learn whether or not the Brewers and the cops intend to push these ridiculous charges. This is a trumped up felony with a maximum of 9 months and $10,000. Travis just turned 18. The charges must be dropped and the First Amendment must protect the area around Miller Park. The members of the Pittsburgh General Defense Committee of the IWW that have had the chance to talk about it urge you to call Steve Ethier – the Brewer’s representative that has issued the blatantly unconstitutional “Expression Policy” Miller Park and tell him to drop the charges. Major League Baseball is in the mists of a coordinated effort to intimidate anti-sweatshop activists. We will be around the stadiums talking to baseball fans about sweatshops. Free speech around the stadium spaces is our to win this season!

Members of No Sweatshops Bucco! and the Pittsburgh General Members of the Industrial Workers of the World will be in force tomorrow night at PNC Park, talking about sweatshops and reminding Pirate Fans how lucky we are to have constitutional rights here in Pittsburgh. We will meet at 5 under Roberto Clemente. At 7 – we are going to go to the game. Strategy session. Tickets in section 322 – subsidized tickets available for those who really need them. The security office action has been canceled. The game is against St. Lois. Free baseball card night. No backpacks aloud. Bring a paper grocery bag for you stuff.

On Sunday, and throughout next week, Wobblies of the Up-State New York General Membership Branch of the IWW will talking to baseball fans around the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame and soliciting signatures on a petition demanding MAJOR LEAGYE SWEATSHOP ACCOUNABILITY FROM THE NEW YORK YANKEES. Yahoo! Of course the mobilization to Free Travis will be continuing in NY also. Folks living near or around the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, or folks just interested in the petition targeting the Yankees can contact Paul at 607-293-6489.

General campaign inquiries can come to iww_iu450_pgh@yahoo.com - - - the IWW web page will soon have a Major League Baseball Sweatshop Accountability Section - www.iww.org - VERY GOOD! Imagine the IWW Cat chasing the Sweatshop Parrot around PNC Park. We're gonna scare the heck out of that green feathery little turd.

For the One Big Union, Kenneth
