Despite our setbacks due to the power outage at Tufts University, USAS roles on! United Students Against Sweatshops will be holding a smaller event from August 9th-11th in Boston, MA. The gathering will start around 9AM on Friday and end between 3 and 5PM on Sunday. At this current time we are rapidly trying to find a new location and we will send out updates over the USAS listservs once we find a location. This event will be an affiliates gathering focusing largely on the internal workings of USAS and how USAS functions as a national organization. This is a great opportunity for folks to learn more about how USAS works and how they can get involved in USAS on a national level.
Due to certain restrictions, we are not going to be able to accommodate the amount of people that the national gathering was expected to have. Because of this we are asking each affiliated school to send 2-3 representatives who are able to reflect the diversity of your group. It is also preferable that these representatives are not already USAS leadership. This way, we can build new leadership for the years to come. Please think carefully about who you would like to send to this empowering experience!

The cost for the affiliates gathering is a sliding scale of $20-50 with a suggested cost of $30. All housing will be crash housing unless people find their own lodging. Scholarships are still available until Tuesday July 23. Please make sure to let us know when you can leave your home and when you need to be back.
