When workers at Bowie State University (BSU) in Bowie, MD began speaking out
on the job, the university retaliated by dismissing AFSCME Local 1297
President Juan Glover. Over 5,000 university clerical and service workers on
a dozen campuses including BSU have organized for a voice at work since
November 2001.
With evidence of widespread mismanagement at BSU, including layoffs
affecting vital programs, refusal to provide information and retaliation
against students and staff who question administration actions, it's time to
demand accountability.
