The Applied Research Center announces
the Racial Justice Leadership Institute.
September 8-11 in Chicago.

The Racial Justice Leadership Institute is a 4-day intensive seminar
for racial justice activists and intellectuals who wish to expand
their skills influencing public debate and policy on issues related
to structural racism and racial equity.

The Institute will consist of provocative panels, discussions and
presentations on various aspects of racial justice work, including
research, issue development, media advocacy and policy development.
The Institute will be a great opportunity for key activists to
connect and engage in timely analysis of effective ways to address
race and public policy issues. 30 people will be selected to
participate. The application deadline is August 5. A copy of the
brochure is downloadable from the ARC website at:

http://www.arc.org/action_ed/index.html

The Racial Justice Leadership Institute is sponsored by the Applied
Research Center, a national research, education and public policy
organization which focuses on issues of race, poverty and social
change. ARC is the publisher or ColorLines magazine and recently
