Citibank Hit By Syracuse United Neighbors for Redlining Loans
Noon, Thursday, Aug 1st.
Syracuse, NY
Angry Neighborhood activists from Syracuse United Neighbors (SUN)
held a press conference and protest in front of the Dewitt (suburban)
branch of Citifinancial for failing to provide good loans (loans close
to the prime rate....6%... rather than 16% and up) to Syracuse, NY.
There are zero (0) Citibank branches in the Syracuse area. There
are only Citifinancial branches, or loansharks, to feed on Syracuse's
residents...pushin' bad loans. The entire city of Syracuse is being
redlined!!!!
After about 20 minutes, the Onondaga County Sherrifs were on the
scene. No arrests were made since the residents began chanting, "the
police need a raise!"
