The Ruckus Society

The Ruckus Society is a non-profit organization that provides environmental and human rights organizers with the tools, training, and support needed to achieve their goals. We fill a unique niche. Working with a broad range of communities, organizations and movements, Ruckus facilitates the sharing of information and expertise that strengthens the capacity to change our relationship with the environment and with each other.

Ruckus is currently working on Ebase 2.0 and would like to stay on Ebase. Experience with Filemaker and/or Ebase is helpful but not required necessary training with be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

§ Commitment to social and environmental justice
§ Knowledge of structure and design of a database, including data tables, indices, queries, reports, scripting, and how to sort, develop and create reports

§ Fluency in "database terminology"
§ Created, planned or developed a database in the past
§ Familiarity with non-profits and their database needs.

Responsibilities (in prioritized order)

§ Database development, maintenance and administration
§ Data entry and upkeep
§ Data reports including thank-you s, mailing labels, response analysis, and customized finds
§ Database supervision
§ Data imports and exports
§ Working with staff on data clean-up and data entry
§ Staff training on database, software and hardware issues
§ Research and troubleshooting
§ Some software/hardware and systems support

Job Specifics

This is a part-time position, 5-8 hours a week. Salary will be between $10-$15 per hour and dependent on experience. The position is located in our Oakland office.
